Nvidia's Campaign to Sell AI Chips to China Finally Pays Off
Nvidia's Campaign to Sell AI Chips to China Finally Pays Off Beijing reportedly approved the sale of hundreds of thousands of Nvidia H200 chips to Chinese AI companies--the culmination of a dramatic shift in US tech policy. Jensen Huang sure seems to be having a lot of fun in China this week. The Nvidia CEO has been spotted going for a leisurely bike ride and browsing a fresh fruit stand in Shanghai, as well as enjoying beef hot pot at a humble restaurant in Shenzhen. The carefree tour is not just good optics. Huang has real reason to be feeling upbeat: His long-running lobbying campaign in Washington has, in effect, finally paid off.

Why Everyone Is Suddenly in a 'Very Chinese Time' in Their Lives
Why Everyone Is Suddenly in a'Very Chinese Time' in Their Lives It's a symbol of what Americans believe their own country has lost. In case you didn't get the memo, everyone is feeling very Chinese these days. Across social media, people are proclaiming that "You met me at a very Chinese time of my life," while performing stereotypically Chinese-coded activities like eating dim sum or wearing the viral Adidas Chinese jacket . The trend blew up so much in recent weeks that celebrities like comedian Jimmy O Yang and influencer Hasan Piker even got in on it. It has now evolved into variations like " Chinamaxxing " (acting increasingly more Chinese) and " u will turn Chinese tomorrow " (a kind of affirmation or blessing).

China Rolls Out Its First Talent Visa as the US Retreats on H-1Bs
The Chinese government unveiled a program to woo foreign talent just as the US cracked down on H-1Bs with a $100,000 fee. The move immediately provoked xenophobic backlash. While President Donald Trump makes it harder to hire skilled foreign workers in the US, Chinese leader Xi Jinping is trying to lure them in. On Wednesday, China officially launched a new visa program designed to make it easier for young professionals and people with degrees in science and technology from top universities to study and do business in the country. While many of the details of the K visa program have yet to be announced, Chinese authorities have said that applicants won't be required to obtain an invitation letter from a specific company, meaning the visa isn't tied to individual employers.

The groundbreaking leak shows in granular detail the capabilities this company has to monitor, intercept, and hack internet traffic. Researchers who examined the files described it as "digital authoritarianism as a service."
